Rebuild the Database in Safe Mode

This is the most effective software fix for PS5 crashes. It doesn't delete any games or saves — it scans and repairs the file database, removing corrupted entries.

A spill onto the main board — from rough handling or an incorrect reapplication — can short-circuit components permanently. Sony's factory-applied gasket barrier requires correct reinstallation to contain the liquid metal properly. This repair requires professional equipment and experience. Attempting it without both risks permanent, unrepairable board damage.

SSD Failure

A failing SSD requires replacement. The PS5's built-in 825GB SSD is a non-standard part — not a swappable consumer M.2 drive — so sourcing and fitting the correct replacement is a professional job.
